You cannot go back and complete PPS assessments after the Assessment window has
closed. The ARD needed to be set during the window for the assessments. Since it was
not, you cannot complete any of those assessments now. I do believe, as I stated
earlier, that if you speak with your fiscal intermediary , you may be able to use the
admission assessment in place of the 14 day and get a RUGs payment for at least 14 of
the days.

Subject: Missed PPS assessments
Can't use the 14 day Rug as the other MDS coordinator that does rest of house used day
10 as the ref date.Can't use day 10 for the 5 or 14.This patient should have had a
5,14,and omra/30 day done.I want to know if I can go back and do any assessments.The
very sad part is this patient came in for 6 weeks of iv antibiotic,we will prob spend
the default rate on the ivs alone.
