Remember to have a good system to track annual assessments if you will be running an early schedule. I frequently see facilities miss an annual because the 3rd quarterly is due/scheduled a several weeks before the annual is due. They do a 4th quarterly (and miss the annual) and don't notice until the quarter after that.

          Good morning,
In regards to MDS Scheduling: What I have done is adjusted everyone 2 weeks until the load is evenly spread out. Depending on the size of your facility and # of NAC's it may take 2 full quarters.

In Regards to rehab Lows- my therapy dept. just looks at me when I mention this. They don't want to see a res. 3 x's a week for 15 minutes - I just don't understand this myself.

In regards to RA programs. I live in Texas but came from a casemix state. 3x's a week is not enough and won't do anything for your casemix. 6x's a week will increase the casemix and if you do ABS - (Acquity based staffing) Like we do it adds 15 minutes for each resident being seen - I have increased our PPD in 6 months from 2.4 to a 2.9.
