The Code Set for LTC does not permit the use of Volume 3 of the coding manual. Volume 3 is the procedure coding section. Procedures are not to be coded on our claims. However, I have in the past coded such things as debridement for the MD to bill on his claim.

I know we have talked about this before but can't find resources.  If a resident is in a SNF unit, whether free-standing or in hospital, do you ever use procedure codes on your MDS?
