Subject: skilling for dressing changesI have a resident who is diabetic. He developed a large hematoma on his thigh (injury). He ended up in the hospital for an incision and drainage and packing of this then infected hematoma. He is getting BID dressing changes. I know daily dressing changes will skill a resident with multiple stage 2 or one stage 4 ulcer, but would daily (or BID) dressing changes on a surgical wound also skill him? Do I skill him until this wound heals? or not? Therapies are not picking him up, so nursing would be the only thing skillable service. Yes???Thanks, Nancy
