Judy,

Take a look at the Florida site as well as Texas. Some states are moving all thier MDS related information to the MDS Dial-Up Network Bulletins Page. This works for providers, but makes it tough for the vendors to obtain information. We then have to call you to gather information or update our records.

I would request that you have a page for the vendors that includes information about the quarterly type being used in your state, details of the system being used for Medicaid payment (grouper version if RUG-III, or other system), Section S if being used, Section U status in Virginia, any special data manipulation being done (e.g. not submitting HIV status), etc.

Thanks

Nathan

Subject: Request for Assistance, State MDS Websites

I am the RAI Manager of Virginia, and I'm setting up an unsecured State MDS Webpage.  I want to make it easy, interactive and useful to Virginia providers.  If any of you live in states that already have this type of website and you think it's particularly useful, I would love to have the link.  Any other state RAI Managers who would be willing to give me their advice/expertise in this area would be welcomed.

Also, what would you like to see on a state MDS website?  This is a separate website from the State Transmission "keyhole" site.  It would be available to anyone, without passwords.

If you are a Virginia provider, please let me know that in your reply, and I'll certainly try to put what you want on the website.  I'll announce the link on the 'keyhole' page and in my email newsletter.  I probably won't get it up and running until late summer/early fall.

Thank you,

Judy Wilhide, RN, BA, RAC-C
