Yes, she has not had a 60 day break in skilled services.  So, is she has another 3 day qualifying hospital stay , she could be picked up on Med A again but would start her count of Medicare days where she left off in January. (Starts with day 1 for PPS , of course).

Subject: Med A days

Hey group:
My brain is not working well this morning. I have a lady whose last day of Med A was 1/30/04. She went to assisted living facility on 1/31/04.  She went back to the hospital on 3/12/04 and again on 4/4/04.  For the 60 day break in skilled care; don't you stop counting the 60 days on 3/12 when she went back to the hospital?  So, my thinking is she only had 41 days of unskilled care and would be able to continue with the days she had left from her previous snf admission. Right?   Thanks, Terri
