Dorothy,

What we did at our facility was to discharge return anticipated with the date the resident went into the hospital, and if per chance the resident went home, decided to go to another facility or expired in the hospital we would send another discharge return not anticipated once we had found out the date that they left the hospital or expired.

Dorothy,

I would leave it as "Discharge return anticipated" b/c when you discharged him to hospital, you were anticipating that he would return to your facility, regardless of what decision was made after he got to the hospital.

Subject: Discharge Tracking

Good morning, Happy Monday!

A resident of ours was sent to the hospital "discharge return anticipated", however he will not be returning to us.

Since the "discharge return anticipated" tracking form hasn't been submitted yet, is there a reason that I can't go back and change it to a "discharge return NOT anticipated" using the original date he went to the hospital as the date of discharge?

Thanks

Dorothy
