What I will add it that I have always been salaried in my nursing career, Home health, Hospice RN, and when I took the job as an MDS Cordinator, I wanted to be hourly, but after my 90 day period, (and 3.5 yrs later) I was told I will be salaried. Both hourly and salary have their pro and con's. Being salaried it enables me to do what I have to do, and come and go. Sounds good? Well, in a way yes, but again I am in a job that I work over the 40 hrs qw, and realizing that my free time for me is minimal. If I was hourly, I would be making a fortune. I am lucky, that I do get paid at the regular rate overtime, no time and a half. I am in the process of relocating now, and entertaining the idea of home health again, but at a prn rate.

Claudia Farrell, RN
