We have never run into this situation before:
Resident used 100 days of Medicare at another facility - 100th day was 1/30/04. Was
Medical Assistance and started to build toward his next 100 days but had a break in
stay due to hospitalization - 3/17 until 3/29. Returned to previous LTC setting on
3/29. Hospitalized again on 4/11 with placement of feeding tube. Admitted to our
facility on 4/24, directly from hospital.

In my estimation this resident is Medical Assistance but skilled so will not build
toward his 100 days again (unless the tube would be removed, or feedings and fluids
fell below the required intake). Is that correct?

Thanks for any input,
Bonnie
