This is a very timely question. The new update to the RAI manual released late last
week (available on the AANAC website) states , "Topical preparations that are used for
preventative skin care (i.el, moisturizers and moisture barriers) should not be coded
here."
I would ,however, code it in SEction M under preventative skin care.

Would you count a topical treatment that is used preventatively under Section O for
number of medications or under M for preventative skin care or do you count it under
both? (Example: LiquiShield preventatively to heels or A&D to buttocks
preventatively).
