Plasmapheresis is used to treat hyperviscosity of the blood, or to treat TTP. It does
remove some toxins but the definition of dialyis is to remove WASTE PRODUCTS. It
should NOT be coded as dialyis or as transfusion.
RE: Yes, other opinions, because I think it is. No, it is not listed in the
RAI, but it is hemofiltration, so why not?
