I have another biggie that I need to solve for a co-worker. I realize this
list isn't for personal use, but I haven't been able to find the
information she needs. You wonderful people out there in mds land have
helped me so many times.

Here it is: she has been diagnosed with klebsiella pneumoniae from a
culture taken in her nostrils. She has had very dry mucous membranes with a
lot of nosebleeds, so she insisted that her doc do a culture. She was told
that it wasn't the bacteria that caused pneumonia, but can show up in the
urinary tract or the respiratory tract. She was started on Tetracycline for
3 weeks. She is concerned that she might be contageous to her grandchildren
who are very young. I really can't find many details on this subject and
I've been out of nursing school way too long to remember.

Sorry to make this so long, but poor thing is really stressing out about
it.

Thanks as always, June

(Sorry, Gary!! I know this is a no-no.)
