University of Washington School of Music Faculty position in Music Composition beginning Autumn 2007 Rank and Salary: Assistant Professor, tenure track. The initial three-year appointment is subject to review in the second year for renewal for a second three-year period. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience and qualifications. Qualifications: We seek applicants who demonstrate promise as inspired and innovative composers, and excellent teachings skills at all levels. Advanced degree in the field should be in hand. Secondary areas of expertise including, but not limited to, instrumental conducting or performance at a professional level will be of particular interest. Responsibilities: Undergraduate theory core teaching and other undergraduate and graduate courses; responsibilities in organization of the School of Music Contemporary Group; instruction in composition at the undergraduate and graduate levels; participation in divisional and departmental activities; other duties as assigned by Director, consistent with candidates qualifications in his/her secondary area of expertise.
