it seems that in the past months juce users that develop audio have been developing a "jack port", which i think would be better than using alsa, as is currently the case in juce. i dont have the time or energy for this but if you have the ability and interest you could see if you get a jack port working relibly. if you could i would use it, the link is here, see page three and four:
