Actually, it looks like on a freshly rebooted Linux system, Grace only takes up about 14% of the CPU. That's a lot better than the 34% I saw earlier, but still a far cry from 1.2% I should mention that I'm running Grace on a single-core amd64 3000+ CPU, with 4 gigs of ram, and a 3.3.8-gentoo kernel with the PREEMPT patch. > does switching to format stop the crash? > > > (define (foo) > (let ((sequence '(0 1 2))) > (process > for i from 0 to (length sequence) > for current-element = (nth sequence i) > do > (format #t "~A~%" current-element) > (wait 1)))) > > (sprout (foo)) Nope. Grace reacts identically when running this code as it did when running the code I posted in my original message. Also, I don't think this behavior is a consequence of the new error handling code, because the old 3.8.0 version of Grace exhibits the same behavior. Thanks for looking in to this, --Sergey _______________________________________________ Cmdist mailing list [email protected] http://ccrma-mail.stanford.edu/mailman/listinfo/cmdist
