I think you can use environments as objects -- I used them for that and for defstruct -- see define-class and friends in s7.html or stuff.scm. I think this way of doing objects can handle anything like CLOS or goops, but I haven't actually done it. If I ever get around to porting CMN to Scheme, I'd probably start with CLOS, but who reads music anymore? (I am an old grouch this morning).
