Homewood Illinois!!! Wow!!! I was raised in Highland Park IL and my parents' best friends still live in Homewood! We spent many a 4th of July at Aunt Lennie and Uncle Burt's! Steve has been clean from the cml for just over a year and still on 400mg of gleevec every morning. Some day I'll share with you what's happened with my folks but for now I'll just say that you're right when you say that no one can possibly truly understand what the cml'er is really going thru. You have to be touched by the disease directly, I believe, to really understand. I'm grateful that we now live in Houston. The best I can hope for as a caregiver is to be ever supportive (which is sometimes extremely difficult!!!)
