Hi Jeanie, There have been several members who have gone off Gleevec over the years and every one of them (to my knowledge) relapsed shortly after. Some had cytogenetic relapses (meaning their BMB showed the philadelphia chromosome again) and some caught it earlier when their PCR's came back positive (after being negative on the Gleevec).
The bottom line is that all of the experts have said that Gleevec is not a cure and no one should stop taking it.
