Lynn,   You should find out what happens when insurance denies a claim and the doctors, hospital or other medical institution want their money. Believe me, it's no secret that they will pursue the patient into the ground!   They will file negative reports with the credit reporting agencies and try to repossess what they can -- houses, cars, whatever. It's great that the docs say to go ahead with it -- because either way, the doctors get paid for their services! If you don't think this happens, look it up. There have been plenty of brutal news stories about doctors and hospital harrassing patients for money. Cheryl, There was an interesting article in our Sunday paper entitled, What to do when your insurance company says NO! The 2 doctors that wrote the article said to go ahead with treatment--do not wait for appeals. Is this viable as far as a transplant goes? I assume my insurance pays for everthing; or so it seems in our insurance guide. Perhaps this is something I shouldn't take for granted.
