I have this problem in spades, after four and a quarter yrs on Gleevec.  My hematologist says it's because ofd my age (77), but I'm not buying this, since there have been at least a couple of other CML postings about this in the past.  I've no idea if anything can be done about it; I use a lot of bandaids and just keep wiping up the blood.  Good luck with this problem.  CEG

My son has blessedly few serious side effects on Gleevec.  His skin seems to be the thing most affected by it.  He has experienced hypopigmentation for four years or so.  Then, more recently, his skin seems more fragile and susceptible to cuts and scrapes.  He has complained of bruising as well.  Has anyone else experienced this side effect, and can anything be done about it?  Thanks...Rosemary C.
