Hi Teri, My wife was in the same position as you. Went on gleevec and it did not work. We went to see a specialist at MD Anderson and he increased the dosage from 400mg to 800mgs but told us if 400 didn't work 800 probably would not either and put us in touch with the transplant team there. 4 months later Nancy had an unrelated donor BMT. That was in Dec of 2002 and she is back to work full time and almost off all her meds. We are starting to actually get a normal life back. I know a lot of cmler's would not even consider a BMT but it save my wife's life and made her healthy again.
