The herbal supplement St. John's Wort reduces the effectiveness of the
cancer-fighting drug Gleevec, according to researchers from the University of
Buffalo. "Based on the results of this study, St. John's Wort should be avoided
in patients treated with [Gleevec], if possible," write the researchers, who
included Patrick Smith, PharmD.
