Hi all:
Just a note that I had my follow-up examination of my eye today.
The doctor said that everything was OK, there is still a little bit
of blood left that hasn't yet dissipated. I asked him if the last
remnants of the floaters would disappear, and he indicated that the
debris of tissue from where the vitreous pulled away from the optic
nerve would probably always remain.
Most of my floaters have disappeared. Before I went to see him, I
had just a little bit left that moved from side to side and top to
bottom whenever I moved my eye in that direction. But when I looked
straight ahead, my vision was absolutely clear. That's definitely
something in my favor.
The funny thing is that since he examined me, the floaters are
almost gone, as compared to before he dilated my eye. I can still
notice some of the dilation, so consequently they may be back later
on, but hopefully not. He said if I would have gotten a retinal
tear, it probably would have happened by now, so most likely that
wouldn't happen.
Another lesson learned in the school of life!
Margot
