Hi Richard, I think that CML may be linked to stress. I have an 11 year old son who suffers from a rare genetic syndrome which means that he is mentally handicapped and has many serious health problems, he's almost died on at least 4 occasions. I also lost my mum when she was 43 to lung cancer. My doctor says that maybe these 2 events - prolonged stress and worry have weakened my immunity system and that instead of getting CML in 10 or 15 years (as genetically programmed to do) I've got it now at the age of 37.
