Hello, friends,
I'm Cindy Brown, Marque Lesuer's
oldest sister in CO. I'm sure most of you
have heard by now that CML
claimed the life of my baby brother on Nov. 27.
Marque remained able to do
almost everything during most of his 7 year
battle with the disease. He had
purchased a "fixer-upper" house on Oct. 22
and had been working on it for
over a week with his sons. He anticipated
moving into the new house
on Nov. 20, but around Nov. 1 he became very ill
with what we assumed was
the flu....coughing and a bad headache.
DETAILS...if you want
them.....
When we found him the day after Thanksgiving he was extremely
weak and had
difficulty focusing his thoughts. We talked him into
going into the
hospital, where he was admitted with a blood oxygen
percentage of 75.
Oxygen helped and they immediately put him on IV
antibiotics, feeling the
pneumonia might be bacterial. Unfortunately,
it was a white blood cell
related pneumonia, however, and he died less than
24 hours later. He had
refused all along to have a bone marrow
transplant, chemo or a blood
transfusion. In the end he also refused
to be placed on a ventilator since
it would render him unable to
speak.
I tell you the details since you are all in Marque's CML
distribution list.
I'm sure you know a great deal more about CML than I do
since you either
suffer from the disease or love someone who does....
I am happy to
communicate individually with any of you who need more
details...or just
want to visit. Many of you have kindly sent
cards...thanks for the cookies
for Marque's boys, Gina!!!.....and we are
all SO appreciative!

friends, educators and supporters of Marque's.
I know losing a fellow
fighter is a blow to you all and I wish you strength
and health. You all
know what a proponent Marque was in natural remedies and
diet.
Changing his lifestyle and taking charge of his disease, I am
CONVINCED,
along with his unparalleled bravery and positive attitude, kept
Marque
active and comparatively "healthy" for such a long period of time.
The end
was quick and he was spiritually calm and ready to continue his
journey to
God. May this message as well as the Marque Page give you peace
and
joy this Holiday season....
