Thanks everyone for all the encouraging words.  I guess I had a little panic attack last night when I posted.    I've some sleep since then and I am feeling more clear.   As soon as I read my onc's recommendation for the new trial, I asked him to set it up and I am ready to go down to Houston at any time.  The man saved my life once by getting me into an early Gleevec trial back in 2000, after several of my own failed attempts to get into a trial back in Tampa.  I had gone to Houston in dire straits for a BMT that would have been very risky as I was pretty far along by the time I got there.  I was literally in an exam room signing the papers for the procedure when this man found a way to get me into a Gleevec trail.   I'd be a fool not to take his advice this time as well.  I'm just waiting to hear when he wants me to show up.  Yes I am frightened.  What keeps me going is the knowledge that volunteering for any investigational agent trial is the most pro-active approach I can take, and that MDACC is a front line center offering the latest options.  It is also a comfort to know that, regardless of the outcome,  being a Guinea Pig today in attempt to save my own life might play a tiny part in helping others down the road.   Once again,  thank you all for your comforting words.   dt                   New!
