Whoops...sorry about the subject line regarding Richard's retreat. I
also want to say that while I did not know Sandra Landels, her name will be
sorely missed on the group. I never read the political posts, but I know
that she tried to be an active member of this group. It is always a
terrible shock when we lose one of our own CML family.
I don't know what this year will bring, but I do hope many of us with
problems will share with us more, so we can be a support to those going through
a difficult time. Let's try not to hide our problems from the group just
to be brave, I mean, did anyone know that Sandra was close to death? Did
she come forward and say anything to anyone..who knew she was failing in her
health?
My question is this: do many people on this list hide their true
fears, their problems from the rest of us for fear of upsetting us or putting us
in a "bad place?"
I just felt that when others were in a bad place remission wise, some did
not post to the group anymore, one person confided in me that he/she did not
want to upset others, or put us in a state of fear, so they stopped posting and
the death was such a shock to us all. I just hope that Sandra did not feel
"alone" from us all...set apart because some of us did not like her political
agenda, and the many emails that caused friction. It did not really bother
me, as I delete what I do not care to read. I feel so terribly awful that
I did not get to know her better. We have a great group of people here,
and let's try and get closer this year. Sandra's passing has at least made
me realize that I myself have isolated too much, and not reached out. - Lynne A.
