I have been off the computer for awhile and am so shocked and sorry to hear of Sandra's death.  She has been a tremendous help to all in the list group for a long, long time.   Even though this seems an awkward time, I must share some good news.  After 5 years of Gleevec (I started taking Gleevec in one of the early trials in December of 1999), I finally can ask Zavie for a number----I AM A ZERO!!!!!  I thought the day would never come.  Mary Beth, Dr. Kantarjian's nurse, called me tonight from Houston.  I had my checkup on Dec. 20....zero bad cells out of 20 in cytogenetics!   PCR was 1.36%, down from 6% 6 months ago.  Hurrah!  Hurrah!  Hurrah!   Happy New Year and God bless us everyone,   Gay Bratton     New!
