Hi, Bob has been on and off Angrylin for over 8 years now. He has had high platelets since at least 1991, which is why Dr Sawyers said he has ET and CML. He was dx with the CML in 1998, after being told he would probably develop leukemia because of the high platelets. He's quite unique, I guess! We will discuss it with Dr Sawyers at the next visit. Hi,My platelets were in the millions and the onc kept telling me he was worried about me having a stroke. I had blood aphereisis while in the hospital and they came down but once out, they went right back in the millions.The gleevec wasn't bringing them down fast enough so he put me on Agrylin and Aspirin.So I was on Gleevec, Agrylin and Aspirin.Then the blood counts all took such a dive, I had to be taken off everything.Finally after about 2 weeks they started coming back up and I went back on Gleevec.There is chance of stroke with those high blood platelets so keep a good check on them.I was so sick at that time, I couldn't tell you the side effects of Argryln.Talk with you Dr about it and see what he advises.Jeanie<3
