Swollen spleen symptoms seemed to me to be a pulled muscle; then blood test and elevated wbc, 300,000 plus. Two days in the hospital, BMB, Been on Hydrea at first then entered a trial for Gleevec.
Now the counts are causing me to take both in order to bring them down to respectable levels. But I'm one of the lucky ones in that I've had few side effects, the worst being damnably inconvenient diahrea and neuropathy in the feet. This list will be of great help so stick around and ask any questions you wish. Sometimes it seems like simple chat but all of it will prove useful. For example, some listers just returned from the ASH conference in Canada and their reports enabled us lay persons to be more informed when questioning our own oncologists.
