Hello Hottuna,
Yes it is o.k. to split your dose of Gleevec as you mentioned. Personally, after being at ASH and hearing how the maximum daily dose wasn't really determined during the clinical trials, 600 mg's is a pretty good dose to be on. Travelling for so long in the car is a problem. When I take long car trips I usually stop and exercise every two hourse or so. You might also be having trouble with fluid retention, make sure you drink lots of water and ask your Dr for a mild diuretic. If you are experiencing diarrhea, you can try immodium - but speak to your doctor about this. I am not a Dr, do not even play one on T.V. ;>), these are just suggestions to help you get through the initial period of increasing your dose. Some people notice that after a while the side effects go away, or become less apparent. Keep us posted, Cheers, Cheryl-Anne "hottuna_au" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Happy New Year to all. > I have been increased to a dose of 600mg about 2 weeks ago due to a > small increase in my PH+ from 2.5% to 5 %.
