Hello Folks,

Jerry Mayfield had asked us all to pray for his Canadian friend Peter and it happens that I had met Peter's wife while I was in Toronto, Ontario during the holidays.  Peter's wife Chris, has been keeping me up to date on Peter's status.  After our lunch, Chris returned to the hospital to find out that Peter needed neurosurgery as a result of an injury that occurred because of a fall during his hospital stay.  The doctors had given Peter a 50/50 chance of surviving the surgery.  I am happy to say that Peter has come through it and the Neurosurgeon and everyone involved in his care in ICU are pleasantly surprised.  The neurosurgeon was in to see Peter this morning and said that Peter was doing very well and that the concern is now shifted back to his CML  So I think the prayers are working.

At the moment he is not on Hydrea or Gleevec because of the surgery.  The effort now is to get Peter back on Gleevec until he can get to his appointment in Toronto to pursue the BMS trial.

So, Chris has asked us to all continue to remember Peter in our prayers and hopefully he will continue to confound everyone with his resiliency ;>)!

Cheers,
Cheryl-Anne
