I hope this makes it through Yahoo! I want to
let you know about a big fundraising event for the Leukemia Society that you
might be interested in.
For the past two
years, some friends and I have held a fundraising benefit for the Leukemia
Society, but this year, for our 3rd annual event, we're shooting for the stars
and having a real gala affair. The event centers around a community jam session
-- headlined by a popular local band that will be joined by dozens of the
area's finest musicians and vocalists. We have an honorary chair (the transplant
direct at Mayo Clinic), an emcee (a local TV celebrity), a silent auction, a
presentation by the Leukemia Society, and refreshments. It promises to be a
very exciting evening -- and of course, for a great cause.
Now, some of you
already know about this because you've already donated to the event. Thank you!!
In particular, two unsung artists who belong to this list (you know who you are)
are donating priceless pieces of their artwork for our silent auction. I am so
grateful for their generosity -- and talent!
Although I've done a
lot of fundraising for the Leukemia Society in the last 5 years, I didn't
realize how much work goes into a full-fledged event like this. It's hard!
