My husband takes 800mg and has from the beginning of his treatment.  He had a lot of side effects when he first began but they have gotten much better with time (took about 3 months for things to begin settling down).  He splits his dose, 400 at breakfast and 400 with dinner.  He tries to drink plenty of fluids and to eat something fatty (carbs alone don't do it) when he takes it, otherwise he gets nauseous. Anemia, the chills, occassional muscle cramps, skin rash and a "yucky" feeling are his side effects these days, but he's got his coping strategies so they don't usually get him down.  Hope 800 works for you and that your side effects are either nonexistent or mild.  Hang in there.

Yes, I will give the 800 mg. a try.  I was hoping to hear from others who take 800 mg. I'm wondering how they take it and how they manage side effects.  I thought I'd try splitting the dose into 400 mg. am and 400 mg. pm.  Not sure if this will work but am willing to try.  If the side effects are too great, then I will push for a trial drug sooner than July.  I have not lost my hematologic remission which is a good thing.  PCR showed 69% PH+ which is a big jump from one year ago.  So, it's push harder for now;( We'll see how it goes.  One day at a time is as good as it gets!
