There are not many places where this is done in the US......and when it is done, you are told exactly what mutation you have. I think that your doctor has told you previously that you have some additional chromosomal abnormalities (this is not what we now refer to as mutations).......this can be double phillies, a trisomy, a deletion, etc. When Dr. Druker has your records, he will be able to make this clear. I do not think you have had a very good doctor....so maybe it is good news that he is going. He has pushed you about a BMT right from the start....and now you can see that this is his interest and will be his new job. The numbers above are not typical.....they are not FISH numbers. I am assuming that they are results from pcr testing????? I hope that soon, someone (maybe Dr. Druker or MDACC) will give you a clearer idea of just how you have responded to Gleevec and what your next step should be.
