Hi Pat, 

I don't actually think you have had mutation testing. There are
not many places where this is done in the US......and when it is 
done, you are told exactly what mutation you have. 

I think that your doctor has told you previously that you have 
some additional chromosomal abnormalities (this is not what we 
now refer to as mutations).......this can be double phillies, 
a trisomy, a deletion, etc. 

When Dr. Druker has your records, he will be able to make this 
clear. I do not think you have had a very good doctor....so maybe
it is good news that he is going. He has pushed you about a BMT
right from the start....and now you can see that this is his interest
and will be his new job. 

The numbers above are not typical.....they are not FISH numbers.
I am assuming that they are results from pcr testing????? 

I hope that soon, someone (maybe Dr. Druker or MDACC) will give you 
a clearer idea of just how you have responded to Gleevec and what your 
next step should be. When a doctor can't answer your questions or does 
not listen to you....it is time for a new doctor!!!
