And the fact is that, not being true cancer cells, they

But maybe your doc knows something I don't; did he explain why he thought
there might be a connection between CML and spiking fevers?

He simply said that because I have leukemia, my body does not function as would a normal person's, and if I have a flu or infection, instead of having a steady fever, the spiking is my body's way of dealing with fever.  It just did not make sense to me.  Then again, neither do many symptoms I have.
I did not mean to infer that the temperature had anything to do with relapse or a direct cause of the CML.  I was very uncomfortable for about 2 weeks with these terrible hot spikes that left me weak and perspiring off and on.  I went to the doctor and he said I had a flu.  I did not think I had a flu, because I did not have a sore throat, congested lungs, stuffy nose, etc.  I was just very weak and had these spikes.  He said it was not the CML, so I had to believe him I guess.  My WBC was normal.  I just wondered if anyone else on list, when dealing with flu or cold and has a fever, has this same type of spiking, or do fevers run steady?
The spikes have subsided somewhat and though I still have some very strange symptoms, I am feeling a whole lot better than when I was riding the SpikeCoaster. Thanks, Lynne A.
