Hello Heidi,

Sorry that you are still 100% Ph+ after a year and a bit. You
certainly have your hands full being a single Mom and caregiver to
your Mother.

I haven't read what others may have mentioned to you here, so I do
not know if you have already been asked this question. I was
wondering since you are being seen at UCLA have they spoken to you
about the potential for the new trial of the new BMS drug? I do
understand that a Trisomy 8 is a scary thing, but if my memory serves
me correctly, there have been a few people here on this list with a
trisomy 8 that seems to have resolved mysteriously on its own after a
while.

However, since you have decided to go for a BMT/SCT I am not going to
say anything to dampen your determination as I believe it is very
important that once you are decided you just must approach it with
every bit of conviction for the best possible outcome.

I do want to say though that it seems that since you spend a good
deal of time looking after lots of people that you get comfortable
with the fact that this will be a time when you can and should let
other people look after you. Please make sure before you go in for
the SCT that you have a good enough support group around you that can
look after the things that are most important so that you can
completly focus on you getting better and recovering 100%. I know
what it is like being the one to do it all and I am still learning
how to let other people help me once in a while.

Best of luck to you on this part of your journey and I hope you can
keep us posted on your quest for the cure.

Warmly,
Cheryl-Anne
