Dear people - I am writing (as always) on behalf of my cousin, Dona, from Tucson. I am now in a Seattle suburb. She still has limited use of her eyes because of worsening of glaucoma, which she has had for years. The tinnitus is still so severe, she cannot lead any kind of normal life. I had been meaning to write when got results of lung CAT scans. A September 2004 showed some kind of lesion in one lung. All kinds of mixups led to another in mid-Nov. which showed said lesion was larger and there were now others in the previously clear lung. She was given tests for TB and Valley Fever, etc. which were negative. Then had another test Jan. 15th and she has been unable to get the full results. The radiology report was submitted for only one lung. No one seems to be able to reach this radiologist for a more complete report. Monday, her mammogram results reached her: a large mass that is very inflamed. She had a mastectomy on one side 30 years ago. I told her about Amy going through the same situation and I also told her I believed some one about a month (?) ago also got a scary report. Was this MJ??? She wanted me to write and ask whether I am remembering correctly and what the outcome was in the earlier case. I remember it was benign but whether it was some temporary lesion escapes me. Dona knows from her horrific experience about 3 years ago that CML can cause a radiologist to assume there is a malignant lesion, when it is nothing of the sort. The earliest she can get in to see the "next-step-up" doctor is Feb. 10th (how awful) so she asked me to write you. Avis Ferguson (Hertz Nurtle)
