John: No, I don't want to read the spam either. But the spam exists because Rob no longer can control it, for reasons beyond our control (and his). BUT, he has done what he can and created an alternative, the Google site, which he can control and doesn't suffer this problem. We just need to use it. However, this disgraceful exchange today has nothing to do with that core problem with the list. It has to do with issues that go way beyond the platform we use, namely the respect that people treat others with on the list. I am not picking sides, since there is way more history between folks here than I care to know about or get involved with. I was simply appealing for a little sanity so we can get back to what we come here for. (And I thought the blood-sport analogy was cute). So, I will do the only 2 things I can do in this situation: add my voice to the chorus of those pleading for a return to normalcy; and failing that I will sign off the list and access CML related information elsewhere.
