For what it is worth, here are my thoughts about your situation:

Gleevec is working for you. If it is working, then why do a transplant?
There are 2 new drugs that you can be treated with, if Gleevec fails 
you.
Also, there is no guarantee that the transplant a:  won't kill you, b.
destroy the quality of life you have c. work.  There are group members 
where
the transplants did not provide durable remission and others who    are
fine.  There are of course, others who didn't make it through the 
procedure.
At 49 years old,  your age is somewhat against you.  Personally, I would
continue gleevec and closely monitor my situation, which you are already
doing.  I would look at transplant as a last line alternative.
