Did you appeal the decision by the Max Foundation? The U.S. program does
have an appeal process but I am not sure if that is the case for other
countries.

I am new to this group from India.My father(65YO) who has been
suffering since last 5+ years from cml is showing resistance to Gleevec as the
doctor here is giving him combination of Gleevec with Hydrea to control
his cells.He has been on gleevec 500 mg/day +1000
mg hydrea since last 2.5 years.
Now the doctor here wants him to discontinue Hydrea and recomended 800
mg/day for gleevec.The doctors are trying to
enroll him for new drug trials(Bristol Myers in Singapore or Los
Angeles) which is also not certain.His cyto genetic results
have not improved since last 2 years with the above combination.
As we are finding impossible to start of with gleevec 800mg/day due
to the financials.We recently sold our house for his treatment as he could
not be enrolled in the Max Foundation, a charitable trust set up by
Novartis as he is a retired government official.The reimbursements from his
ex-department reach us after years of filling for each bill due to poor and
tedious system here.
I would appreciate if anyone who is off gleevac and have some
spare which is of no use to them can help us.

Hello, because of elevated liver enzymes i was forced to
go off Gleevec.
What should i do with the bottle i have ? It is almost
