Subject: [CML] Good News/Bad News!

Dear Fellow Listmembers:

Well, my doctor reported today that  I continue to hold remission with ZEROS on CT and FISH and .00015% on PCR.

I had hit molecular remission last August after 18 mos. on Gleevec and lost cytogenetic and FISH remission in November with PCR at .087%.   I then regained ZEROS on CT and FISH in February, 2005, with PCR at .004%

The bad news is that I had a heart attack with a fully blocked artery last Wednesday evening.  Fortunately, I immediately recognized the symptoms and an emergency midnight angioplasty saved the day (and my rear end).

I was discharged from the hospital on Saturday and except for the usual tiredness am doing well.

For those of you who are managing multiple illnesses I have a new found understanding and respect for your problems.

Best Regards,
Carl
