Lisa, you are a big inspiration for me. It has been more than 2 years since I was dxd with CML. I felt the same while coping with this illness I have changed my priorities in life and was taught how to take care of myself and enjoy life. I would have not come to where I am now without this group help and encouragement. It is a great group. Thank you Lisa for your help in the past, wishing you long years of happiness, love and joy.

Hello Group,
Yesterday, 5-24-05 was my 5 year anniversary with CML.
There have definitely been some challenges in my last 5 years. Some I have
managed to greet and defeat and some I could not.
I remember the painful & confusion emotions the day my doctor predicted
about 2 to 3 years for me to live without a transplant.
I remember the will and desire I had to conquer that prediction.
I will never forget the side affects of Hydrea/ Arc and interferon. I will
never forget the fact that I was forced to change my whole identity.
I will always remember the wonderful people on the list that gave me the
support I needed. Support that no one else could provide. Not Family, nor
medical professionals. I will never forget the warriors we lost.
I will never be who I was, but I am forever grateful for who I have become.
In the last 5 years I become some one new. I have even had to bare the loss
of a Son.
But I have also gained a daughter in- law that I love very much.
I have been blessed with the opportunity to help delver my 2 beautiful
granddaughters and I am looking forward to assisting with the next one due
in September:) I am physically able to work and I do. I am emotionally able
to love and I do with all my heart.
I am able to share whatever I have with others in need and I will continue
to do so. And when I do leave this world, I will have comfort knowing that
my work here on earth is finished. I will leave those I come to know and
love with the most valuable memory of all...
WE MUST LIVE TO LEARN TO CARE FOR AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
Thank you all for being such wonderful friends and supporters.
