Dear Listmembers:

Thank you for your kind thoughts regarding my recent heart attack.

After 17 days, I am feeling much better and getting around.

For those of you with heart problems or high cholesterol, I did learn that certain drugs such as Lipitor cannot  be taken with Gleevec.  My onc at MSKCC and cardiologist consulted and agreed on an anti-cholesterol drug that would be compatible with Gleevec.

Incidentally, I reported that after reaching molecular remission last August, I lost cytogenetic remission in November.

It was only after my onc increased my Gleevec dosage from 400 mg. to 600 mg. that I regained cytogenetic remission this past February with zero on CT and FISH.  I remained at zero after my May BMA and RT-PCR had dropped to .00015%.  Does anyone think that 600 mg. should be the optimum dose?

       Any comments on all this?

My best to all,
Carl
