Hi Doris! I have not seen any post from you in along time and I am very glad
to hear from you!
Sorry I don't remember but are you taking Gleevec or did you opt for the
BMT?
I too am sad for the ones we lost and their families.
I am also a Christian But with the added bonus of having many of my own
spiritual beliefs many Christians might not agree with. They are all good
though I promise!
I am sure that God has a plan for all of us.
I like to think of CML as a gift sometimes. One that strengthened my
character and helped me to slow down, live and love as much as possible.
I actually have a very good quality of life right now.
Interferon/ARC WAS ROUGH!
I used to have all the Gleevec side affects.
Now all of a sudden for the past 3 months or so I actually feel normal.
Whatever that is? I have had so much energy lately. Very few cramps... but I
still have the watering eyes:)
In the last 3 months, I have added exercise, magnesium, potassium and
calcium to my diet.
Maybe that's it. Or could it be that it actually takes 4 years to be almost
side affect free???

I don't get on the internet much any more but, Your letter caught
my
eye. Dec 27th will be my 6th year living with cml. I will never forget
that day as long as I live. I to was told 3 to 5 yrs without a BMT. That
was
before gleevec. I was on everything you was and had terrible time with the
interferon. I lived in Tampa Fl for 13 yrs. I'm a grandmother of 6
wonderful
grandchildren. I've lost so many friends over the past 6 yrs. Ones that
i
thought would or should of out lived me. My children keep telling me that
God
has a plan for me. That he's not finished with me. I became a Christian 3
yrs
ago so did my husband and several of my grandchildren. I think in many ways
my
illness has been a blessing. I just wish I could have gotten the message in
a different way(HA, HA). I wish you the very best. Please keep us updated
