Hello all,
Bob's BMB on June 13 shows he is still in PCRU, FISH was 0.6, so all is well in that arena.
He is off the BMS drug for a while, as Dr Sawyers felt he is in such deep remission that it will be ok. Bob will be undergoing an angiogram on Wed 7/6 and then a aortic heart valve replacement. This may be why he is having stroke symptoms, because of lack of oxygen to his brain. He had a very bad "spell" on Wed, and we thought he'd had another stroke, but the CT scan did not show a new one, and he is better now. He's taking Plavix now to help with the blood problems. His high platelets should cause no problems when he has the angiogram and the surgery.
Bob's daughter, Connie, is in the hospital with pneumonia. She is the one with liver cancer. On Thursday her WBC was 0.2, after having chemo on Wed. So she is in isolation, of course, until her counts rise. We got her an appt at UCLA to see Dr. Hecht on 7/11. Same day as Bob's visit, too. Hopefully, an expert like Dr Hecht can help here. The oncologist she sees here does not seem to know what to do with her. I believe he thinks there's nothing to be done, so is just waiting it out. I DON"T like that attitude!! So anyway, all prayers are appreciated.......we know they work!
