I was diagnosed on May 27, 05. I have 8 kids, ages 2-21, so the posts from other parents with young kids are really touching. I'm overwhelmed by the knowledge, love and support you give each other. I'm grateful that you're all as close as the computer! I started on 400 mg of Gleevec 4 weeks ago and so far the side effects are minimal. Next appt is on July 20th. Several postings have mentioned Vanderbilt, so I'll tell you that I live in Nashville, though my doctor is at St Thomas. My doctor is great, and I've gotten a wealth of information from the net. But experience has shown me that there is no substitute for the support we get from those who have walked the walk. Thank you all for taking the time to share your journey.
