Just wanted to say hello to all my fellow CML family. I
haven't posted
in a while. I do read all posts but must admit I am even
behind on
that at the moment. The last time I wrote, I explained how I have
been
trying to overcome a severe bout of depression...I am some better,
but
due to personal cicrumstances, it comes and goes. A troubled
marriage
and a mentally ill 20 year old son, who by the way got himself

months in the slammer for drug induced actions has been a
constant
source of stress for me. My elderly mother who has alzhemeir's
has
deteriorated even more in recent months, and I'm terribly saddened
by
this, and the day is drawing nearer when I may have to resort
to
placing her in a nursing home. I spent about a month in and out
of
court with my son's legal problems, trying to get him the help
he
needs, rather than jail time, which is not what he needed. He got
5
months jail time and 28 days in a rehab, but the DA insisted he do
the
5 months before the rehab which is totally opposite of what
should
have occurred. It has been devasating to me. When a person has
mental
issues, being caged up like an animal is not going to solve
anything.
To make matters even worse, the events that led up to
his
incarceration involved my husband's daughter and her husband so
now
the family is divided...and I am very bitter.
If all of this is
not enough, I have been sick for a month with an
upper respisatory
infection and severe bronchitis which I am not
responding to antibotics.
Here in Tennessee, the humidity has been
severely high, probably
contributing to my lungs being in the shape
they are. With all of this that
has been going on... I have not seen
my cml specialist in over 2 months so
I have no idea where I stand
with the cml. I'm sure I will get royally
chewed out on the 21st when
I do see him.
I continue to hold you all
in my thoughts and prayers. Will try to be
more active in the group as soon
as I get better.
If all of this is not enough, my primary doctor can no
longer
prescribe pain meds, and I didn't realize how severe my bone pain
is
until I didn't have anything to take. I think also being
sick,
runnning temps has also contributed to my bone pain. I have
suffered
greatly.
I just wanted to check in and let everyone know
I'm still
kickin'...but definitely not kickin' very high. I know most of
you
often write only of the cml, but I felt compelled to share the
ascepts
of my daily life of which cml is NOT the only thing I struggle
with.
Thank you all for being here for me....and I wish you all
continued
progress.
