Most respectfully i would like to lay down the following a few lines for your kind sympathetic consideration and submission.
Sir/Madam,my name is Rakesh Kr. Kashyap.I am 24 yr old from Chandigarh(India).Unlike my other colleagues who are enjoying a drive on their career roads,the trajectory of my flight have been cut short by untoward circumstances in life.Sir my father has been battling with cancer(jejunal leiomyosarcoma) for the last six years and remained under treatment in PGIMER Chandigarh and Tata memorial hospital Mumbai.During these years he underwent 3 major surgeries,6 cycles of chemotherapy and 21 sittings of radiotherapy.Presently he is under oral chemotherapy(imatinib capsules).3 months back he fell critically ill due to bursting of one of the tumours adjoining urinary bladder and rectum causing blockage of urine and blood in the urinary bladder.Findings of ct scan further added to the trauma showing that his left kidney is blocked and right kidney reduced in size,therfore a pcn(direct pipe to kidney) was done.Doctors in P.G.I Chandigarh discharged him after 2 month as they expressed their inability to treat because of the incapacity of the hospital for providing expert treatment.
After going through a harrowing experience in P.G.I for five consecutive years,i have felt that unfortunately there is little or no expert treatment in government institutions that precisely addresses to this problem.It grieves me exceedingly to see that there is no quality care and treatment in government hospitals which my father is entitled to and the care which private hospitals provide is beyond our financial reach.How can a government servant think of a private hospital when his salary is a meagre 7000 rupees? So the only alternative left is to wait for death without proper care and treatment.On inquiry i learnt that there are some specialized hospitals such as Apollo Cancer Institute(Chennai,Tamil Nadu,India) which provide expert care and treatment to cancer patients and can certainly help to prolong my dad's life.But the cost of treatment at this hospital is beyond our reach since the estimated cost is nearly 6 to 7lakh rupees.
Sir/Madam,five years of long and arduous battle against cancer have wrecked havoc on my family's physce.My family has plunged into a great depression.My family has drowned mentally,emotionally and financially.Till date we have exhausted all our financial resources.It is indeed stange-infact-it is incomprehensible that the persons whom we thought are our well wishers were the first to desert us at times when we needed them the most.But still a few whom we never expected to help came forward and supported us.It was one of life's bitter irony.
As we became helpless and unable to bear the expenses for treatment the entire family gave up the thought to take him abroad.But the sufferings of my dad have provoked me to do something.I can't see my dad die in front of my eyes without being attended by experts.So in my endeavour to save my dad's life i am on a mission to raise the required amount for his treatment.Sir your generous contribution will add to an amount which can help save his life.May be i may not be able to save his life but at least by this effort and through your unwavering support i can help my dad to give a tough fight against cancer.All i need is your support.
