Dear Wilhelms, I am so very sorry to hear of your daughters passing. We, as parents, would rather die a thousand deaths than lose a child and I am sorry you had to experience that. Take comfort that she is with God and all who have passed before her. I am glad Bob is doing well and I am sure he will continue to improve. I know your life as caretaker is not easy. My sister is caretaker for her husband and I see the strain. I was dx in May of 2003, live in the hills and hollows of Missouri and never heard of CML, but I found the CML groups and I have been so blessed to have people on this and other list to scrape me down off the ceiling at times. The CML experience has given me more insight into "relying on the kindness of strangers". People, who did not know me and had no more in common with me than CML took the time to encourage me, answer questions and provide information. I am forever grateful. You may have been one of those. I hope you find comfort in prayer and one another in the loss of your precious daughter and I wish healing of body and soul for you both. God Bless Ozark Lady

He had the surgery on Thursday and we came home on Tuesday. He received a bovine valve, so he will have to be careful when he is moooooving! Went to UCLA yesterday and his platelets are back up over a million, so he's back on Hydrea and Agrylin. And also, back on the BMS drug. He was off it for over a month, because of the surgery. He will have a BMB next month, so hoping it will show him still to be in remission. > Bob's daughter, Connie, passed away on July 31. Bob was still in the hospital in Bakersfield, but we had spent a day with her that week. She was able to see many friends, and all her siblings. Those she could not see she talked to on the phone and said goodby. Connie was very well loved and she loved well. Her ashes were put out to sea last Sunday, just as she wanted. She loved the ocean and the beach. Bob was able to go to her memorial service, but I'm not sure he was aware of everything. Maybe that's for the best. > I want to thank all of you who sent messages. We do so appreciate the support and prayers and encouragement. It's difficult taking care of Bob because he's not able to communicate well. So it's important for me to have this forum.........to read your messages and to glean hope and love from them. I don't respond very often, but I do think of you all and you are always in my prayers. I've had the privilege of meeting some of you and wish I could meet ALL of you!
